Amazing Grace Films was formed by documentary maker Alicia Arce to make a feature film about slavery in Nigeria. Since then, she has gone on to make documentaries shining a light on lives all over the world.
Alicia's work for Amazing Grace Films, has taken her to some of the most difficult and dangerous places in the world, like Northern Pakistan, where she travelled into Taliban country to make Malala: Shot for Going to School. In Toughest Place to be a Midwife, she explored the dangers of childbirth in Liberia. More recently, Morocco to Timbuktu: An Arabian Adventure took her to the City of Gold in the Sahara Desert. She has also filmed closer to home on a Royal Navy Frigate for The Battle of Jutland: The Navy's Bloodiest Day
Whether filming at home or abroad, Alicia's films for Amazing Grace Films are first and foremost about people. Often shooting herself to create a closer bond with contributors, she brings out the human spirit and emotion behind every story.
